Core Concepts

Glossary of key concepts to know as you work on the NimbleBox.ai Platform
The specification used in NimbleBox

πŸ—‚οΈ Project

A project is a contained environment that consists of your data.

πŸ’  Instance

An instance is a machine running on our cloud server with your project data and packages.

🧰 Hardware

The hardware you choose to run your project with is the configuration of the instance. This could be either using a GPU or a CPU.

πŸ–₯️ Interfacing Environment

The interfacing environment is the development environment you'd like to interact with your instance on NimbleBox. This could either be VS Code, Jupyter Notebook or Jupyter Lab.

βŒ› Auto shutdown timer

Auto shutdown timer is an automatic timer that turns your instance off after a particular period of time from starting. Please note that NimbleBox does not differentiate between an idle instance and an instance with processes running on it β€” the timer automatically turns off the instance.

πŸ’³ Subscription

Subscription is the plan you're currently using NimbleBox with. Your instance configuration is limited by the subscription plan you're on. To upgrade your configuration, upgrade your plan.

πŸ’΅ NimbleBox Credits

NimbleBox credits are analogous to the fuel in your car (or the charge in your battery). We do not store any payment information, so you can seamlessly work on your projects without worrying about racking up huge cloud costs. You're in control of the computational power you use.
